Four different criminal record sealing and expungement bills are pending before the Committee on Judiciary & Public Safety. The Committee plans to take the best pieces of each bill and combine them into one piece of legislation – this is called an omnibus bill.

The five key elements of the RESTORE Act must be included in any omnibus bill the committee passes. We are asking for this bill to be marked up in November and passed this year.

Once that is complete, we will ask the whole DC Council to vote YES on the omnibus bill and pass it before the end of the Council Period.
